Vermuntwerk

Vermuntwerk is a hydroelectric power station in the Vorarlberg mountains that harnesses water from the adjacent Vermunt reservoir. The facility stretches 386 meters in length and sits at 1,743 meters elevation within the Alpine landscape.

The facility opened in 1930 and marked a turning point in Austrian hydroelectric development. It ranks among the early large-scale projects that harnessed Alpine rivers for power generation.
