Circuit de Zeltweg, Motorsport racing track in Spielberg, Austria.
The Circuit de Zeltweg is a motorsport racing track in the Mur valley spanning roughly 4.3 kilometers with seven right-hand turns and three left-hand turns. The facility has seating for up to 105,000 spectators and regularly hosts Formula 1 and MotoGP races.
The site began as an airfield and was converted into a racing track called Österreichring in 1969, going through several name changes afterward. Red Bull's acquisition of the venue resulted in its current name and transformed it into a world-class motorsport destination.
The first turn is named after Niki Lauda, an Austrian racing driver who won his home Grand Prix here in 1984. This naming reflects how the venue honors local motorsport heroes and keeps their memory alive for visitors.
The location is accessible by public transportation, and visitors should arrive early for better views and time to explore the grounds. The venue offers different seating areas suited to various preferences, ranging from basic standing areas to comfortable lounges.
The circuit features a specialized chicane designed exclusively for MotoGP races, separate from the Formula 1 configuration. This adaptation shows how the track adjusts its layout for different racing series.
