Alice Springs Inland Dragway, Quarter-mile drag racing track in Alice Springs, Northern Territory.
The Alice Springs Inland Dragway is a racing facility with a quarter-mile track and a 650-metre braking area designed for drag racing events. The venue features permanent LED lighting that allows competitions to run during the day and at night.
The venue opened in 2008 after community members spent 13 years pushing for a dedicated drag racing facility in the region. It became the first purpose-built drag racing venue in regional Australia when it was completed.
The Central Australian Drag Racing Association organizes multiple racing categories and events throughout the year, bringing together motorsport enthusiasts from across the country.
The facility is located about 13 kilometres south of Alice Springs along Stuart Highway and is easy to reach by car. There are viewing areas for spectators to watch racing events from convenient positions.
The venue has a dedicated burnout pad named after Dave Harders, a key figure who helped establish the facility. Drivers use this area to perform tire burnouts and demonstrate their skills to crowds.
