Les lacs d’Osselle, Waterfront campground in Osselle-Routelle, France.
Les lacs d'Osselle is a campground situated beside two natural lakes with around 50 camping pitches offering direct water access. The site features facilities for swimming and scuba diving in these former limestone quarries.
The site developed in the mid-twentieth century on grounds where limestone was once extracted for building materials. The abandoned quarries gradually filled with water and eventually became recreation lakes.
The site embodies the French tradition of outdoor family camping and serves as a gathering place where visitors naturally connect through shared activities. The grounds reflect how people in the region spend summer leisure time together.
The facility operates during summer months and provides electrical hookups, dining options, and sanitary facilities throughout the grounds. Wheelchair accessibility is available across the entire site for all visitors.
The lakes allow visitors to dive and explore the remnants of old quarry walls that descend to significant depths. This combination of recreation and geology creates an unusual underwater experience for swimmers and divers.
