Camping de la Forêt, Campsite near Sanctuaries in Lourdes, France.
Camping de la Forêt is a campground on the edge of Lourdes along a river, spanning seven hectares across its grounds. It offers 27 accommodation units including chalets, mobile homes, cottages, and dedicated areas for tents, caravans, and motorhomes, all with modern amenities available on-site.
The campground stands near the Grotto of Massabielle, where Bernadette Soubirous experienced religious visions in 1858 according to historical records. This event made Lourdes a major pilgrimage destination that attracts visitors from around the world.
The on-site restaurant Le Bergerie introduces guests to regional French cuisine through traditional Pyrenean dishes made with local ingredients. Meals reflect the culinary character of the region and offer visitors a taste of local food culture.
The campground is located next to a nature forest and provides easy access to both the city center and the grotto, making arrival convenient. Visitors should know the site is popular during warm months and features a heated outdoor pool available from June through September.
Starting in March 2025, the campground will feature three swimming pools in its aquatic area to supplement existing facilities. This expansion will significantly enhance recreational options available to guests during their stay.
