Manu, Campground near Lake Serre-Ponçon in Crots, France.
Manu is a campground located near Lake Serre-Ponçon in Crots, France. The site is laid out across former farmland with 100 individual camping spaces of about 80 square meters each separated by natural hedges, plus 40 dedicated motorhome spots integrated into the property's existing land divisions.
The site began as a family venture and continues under third-generation ownership today. Eva and Alexeï took over management in 2020 and maintain the property's connection to its agricultural past.
The site maintains a traditional approach to camping with straightforward amenities that reflect how visitors have long enjoyed outdoor stays in Alpine regions. People come here for simplicity and connection to the natural surroundings rather than resort-style features.
The grounds sit about 100 meters from the water's edge, making it easy to reach the lake for swimming or boating. The site operates seasonally from mid-June through early September, so visitors should plan their visit accordingly.
The layout follows the original boundaries of the farmland parcels, using them to naturally divide the camping spaces rather than creating artificial borders. This approach preserves the land's agricultural geometry while creating distinct areas for guests.
