Wodnik
Wodnik is a water facility in Żary with multiple pools for different purposes. A 25-meter lap pool with six lanes, a recreational pool with water massages, and a shallow splash zone for children form the core, complemented by a nearly 50-meter water slide, sauna, and gym facilities.
The building was constructed around the year 2000 after local government decided to create a venue for water sports and fitness activities. The design drew inspiration from similar facilities in other towns and was meant to provide a lasting structure for community health and recreation.
The name Wodnik derives from the Polish word for water man and reflects the facility's purpose. Local residents use the pools regularly as a social gathering spot for family and leisure, with the facility becoming part of everyday life in the town.
The facility is designed for convenience with changing rooms, showers, and rest areas to make visits comfortable. Access is easy for families and visitors with disabilities, with flexible opening hours throughout the week and on weekends.
The pools are heated year-round, allowing swimming and relaxation even during colder months. This heating feature makes Wodnik usable in any season, independent of weather conditions.
