Vodník is a small hotel and restaurant on the edge of Vimperk, next to a pond with a pier and terrace. The main building has a simple modern look, while nine wooden cabins stand behind it for families or groups who want more space.
The building sits in a region that has long been a quiet retreat near the forests and hills of Šumava. The current hotel was built in a modern style but keeps the pond and wooded surroundings as the main feature, following the area’s older role as a place to rest outdoors.
The pondside area feels like a local gathering spot, with the restaurant terrace facing the water and a small playground nearby for children. Guests often move between the dining tables, the pier, and the grassy edge of the pond in a slow, informal rhythm.
Parking is available right outside the hotel and cabins, and the whole area is easy to walk around. In summer, guests can use the skating lane or sit on the terrace; in winter, the fireplace inside offers a warm place to stay.
Despite the watery name, there is nothing nautical about the building itself, but the nine wooden cabins tucked behind the main block give the grounds a small village feel. On some evenings, music and dance events are held on the terrace, turning a quiet pondside meal into a livelier local gathering.
