Le restaurant, Restaurant in Annecy, France
Le restaurant is a small eatery in a side street of Annecy, near the old center and the lake shore. The room has a hexagonal tiled floor, a wooden counter, stools, and a large window opening onto a planted terrace that feels hidden from the street.
The place was opened by a cook who had worked in several renowned kitchens in the region and in Paris before settling in Annecy. He created this address to bring his own way of cooking back to the town where he grew up.
Inside, the chef works behind an open counter, so visitors watch the plates being prepared and sometimes hear the kitchen team talking about local products. The short menu changes with the harvest and the season, turning each visit into a discovery of nearby farms and dairies rather than a fixed list of dishes.
You can come for lunch or dinner, as the place stays open during the day and in the evening throughout the year. The dining room is on one level, and the calm location away from the main pedestrian flow makes it easy to reach on foot.
Dédé the pink pig and Marguerite the cow appear as small figures placed on the tables to wipe away crumbs between courses. When leaving, a tiny shop sells local genepi, sweets, olive oil and pestos made by nearby producers.
