Anse Castalia, Natural cave in Anse-Bertrand, Guadeloupe
This limestone cavity in the cliffs contains a small interior beach where the turquoise waves of the Atlantic Ocean regularly surge through the opening.
The cave remained a local secret until 2018, when social media platforms exposed its existence to visitors from across the globe.
This geological formation demonstrates the marine erosion typical of northern Grande-Terre's coastline, shaped by thousands of years of wave action.
Access requires a 20-minute walk on a marked trail from road D122, with a steep descent equipped with a rope to facilitate passage.
The interactions between limestone rock and sand create a distinct water coloration, different from other sea caves in the archipelago.
