Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach is a sandy shore on the southwestern coast of Ko Libong with white sand and turquoise water. Traditional wooden bungalows built on stilts line the shoreline and shape the visual character of the place.

Ko Libong was designated an ASEAN Heritage Park in 2019 in recognition of its marine conservation role. This designation marks a significant moment in efforts to protect the island's natural resources.

The beach is home to a Muslim community whose daily practices shape the local character and rhythm of the place. Visitors can observe traditional ways of living woven into the routines of those who call this area home.

The beach is only accessible by long-tail boat from the mainland, with the journey taking about 30 minutes. It helps to check boat schedules beforehand and wear a life jacket if you are not a confident swimmer.

The shallow water near the shore is covered with extensive seagrass meadows that feed the rare local dugong population. These underwater plants are hidden from view, but the marine life they support can often be spotted during a visit.
