Ko Lanta

Ko Lanta is an island group in Krabi Province featuring a central mountain ridge and nine different beaches lining its western shore. The islands stretch across significant distances with varied landscapes, from forested hills to flat coastal areas.

The island group was officially established as a district in 1901 and originally included four separate island clusters with different names. This formation created the basic administrative structure that remains in place today.
