Poppodium 013 is a performance hall and theater building in the center of Tilburg, the Netherlands, with two main rooms, the larger holding around 3,000 people and the smaller one used for up-and-coming artists. The venue hosts over 400 events a year, drawing a wide range of national and international acts.
013 was formed in the early 2000s from the merger of several Tilburg music venues, including Noorderligt, MuziekKantenWinkel, and the Batcave, each rooted in youth culture and new talent. From 2016 onward, the building was renewed and expanded to reach its current form.
The name 013 comes from the old telephone area code of Tilburg, linking the venue directly to the city's identity. The program covers a wide range of genres, which means the crowd changes from one night to the next, bringing together very different groups of people.
The venue sits in the center of Tilburg and is easy to reach on foot from many parts of the city. Opening hours depend on the event schedule, so it is worth checking the agenda online in advance and buying tickets early, as popular shows tend to sell out quickly.
Beyond its main building, 013 runs five smaller venues across Tilburg, spreading its activity well into different parts of the city. The venue also uses solar panels on its roof and serves tap water instead of bottled water, which is not common for a hall of this size.
