Plage des Conches

Plage des Conches stretches for many kilometers along the French Atlantic coast and features expansive sand and pine forest borders. The dunes form a natural barrier between the beach and the land beyond.

In the early 1900s, local authorities chose to protect the dunes to shield inland areas from ocean storms. This decision allowed the beach to keep its natural state ever since.

The northern section has several campgrounds that have drawn families for summer holidays since the 1960s, shaping how this place looks and feels today. These spaces show how French people spend their time by the sea during vacation season.

Access comes through point 13, where lifeguards are on duty during summer months and parking is available. The walk from parking to the water is manageable and straightforward.

The southern section offers excellent surfing conditions that match the quality of famous spots elsewhere. Surfers value these waves for their consistency and strength.
