Plage des Quatre Vaux

Plage des Quatre Vaux is a sandy beach in Saint-Cast-le-Guildo backed by green meadows and forested areas that extend right to the water's edge. The shallow waters host mussel cultivation, with wooden poles arranged in distinctive rows visible from shore.

The beach gained recognition as a filming location for French productions featuring actors such as Sandrine Bonnaire and Jacques Gamblin. This cinema connection brought cultural attention to the location and its landscape.

The beach is accessible via the D786 road by taking the first right at the roundabout and following signs toward the camping area. During low tide, the water becomes very shallow, making it easy to walk out and explore the mussel poles up close.

During low tide, visitors wearing boots can wade directly to the mussel poles and watch harvesters at work up close. This direct access provides a rare glimpse into how the aquaculture operates on a daily basis without barriers between visitor and worker.
