Bewachter Strand
The supervised beach is a sandy shore in Ueckermünde stretching about 800 meters with fine sand perfect for swimming and relaxing. The water's edge slopes gradually, which especially attracts families with children, and different zones divide the beach by user type.
The beach was established in the 1920s as a recreational destination and has been popular with swimmers since its creation. After the war it expanded with boat piers, parks and new buildings, and later a campground and boat tours were added during the East German period.
The beach has been a gathering place since the 1920s where locals and visitors meet to enjoy time by the water. The different zones - supervised, dog-friendly, and nudist areas - show how the place welcomes people with different preferences.
The beach is easily reached by car or bike with nearby parking, some shaded in summer, and facilities include toilets, showers and changing rooms. Beach chair rentals and kiosks selling snacks and drinks are available to make your visit comfortable.
The 1927 beach hall is the most distinctive building and houses a restaurant with a large terrace known for good food. It is a landmark that shapes the beach and attracts visitors who want to eat and drink alongside swimming.
