Liapades beach, Beach in Corfu, Greece

Liapades Beach, also known as Gefyra Beach, is a small pebble and sand beach on the west coast of Corfu, tucked below the village of Liapades. The water turns deep quickly and is a clear blue-green color, with tall rocks and green slopes framing the shoreline.

The village of Liapades above the beach is one of the oldest settlements on the western side of Corfu, and it kept its rural character for centuries. The beach itself remained accessible only on foot or by boat for a long time, which kept it away from mass tourism for many years.

The walk from Liapades village down to the beach takes about 15 minutes on a steep path, and parking near the shore is limited so arriving early helps. Sunbeds, showers, and water rentals such as kayaks and pedal boats are available on site.

Several nearby beaches, including Paradise Beach and Rovinia, can only be reached by boat from here, which makes renting a motorboat a practical way to see more of the coast in one day. This stretch of the west coast hides a series of coves that are invisible from any road.
