Kąpielisko Silesia is a beach resort on a lake near Opole, with a sandy shore around 100 meters long on a peninsula. The water body covers about 9.5 hectares and is surrounded by steep rock walls.
The lake formed from an old marl pit that was abandoned and gradually filled with rainwater and groundwater. Over time it became a water body with distinctive turquoise coloring used today as a recreation area.
People from Opole and nearby towns come here to swim and spend time together during the warmer months. The setting draws families looking for a water spot close to home.
The beach is easy to reach by bicycle from central Opole via marked paths, with parking available along Kępska Street and two nearby bus stops. It is good to check the weather beforehand and wear sturdy shoes as the site has steep rock areas.
The water stays refreshingly cool even in summer because the lake is quite deep and partially shaded by tall rock walls. This natural cooling effect makes it a pleasant spot to swim when the air is warm.
