Beach on the Wkra, River beach in gmina Żuromin, Poland
Plaża nad Wkrą is a river beach on the banks of the Wkra in the gmina of Żuromin, in the Masovian region of Poland. The site has sandy and grassy areas along the shore, basic changing facilities, toilets, and a small playground for children.
The Wkra is a tributary of the Narew river and has long served the surrounding villages as a water source and working waterway. In the 20th century, mills and small water-powered plants operated along its banks, leaving traces that can still be noticed in the area today.
In summer, families from nearby villages gather here for picnics and barbecues along the riverbank. The beach also hosts occasional outdoor events, making it a meeting point for the local community rather than just a swimming spot.
The beach is easiest to reach by car, close to the town of Żuromin. The riverbank is shallow near the shore, which makes entering the water straightforward, especially for families with young children.
A short distance from the beach, a point marks where three Polish provinces meet, a rare geographic feature that most visitors never notice. It can be reached on foot along one of the forest paths nearby.
