The river beach developed around the ancient Fonte de Ançã spring, which has provided water to the local community since medieval times.
The Quintal da Fonte bar near the beach serves as a gathering point where residents meet for traditional Portuguese snacks and social activities.
The beach remains open from July 10th to September 1st, with a lifeguard on duty daily between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
The natural pool receives its water directly from the Fonte de Ançã spring, maintaining a consistent water level throughout the swimming season.
