Praia da Torre

Praia da Torre is an Atlantic beach in Galicia with soft sand and a gently sloping shoreline that makes entering the water easy. The beach curves along a natural bay bordered by low dunes and grassy areas where vegetation frames the sandy expanse.

The location developed as a fishing harbor and was defended by watchtowers built to guard against pirates and intruders. This maritime purpose has shaped the area for several centuries.

The name comes from an old tower that once guarded the coastline, and locals still speak of its role in protecting their fishing heritage. Today, the beach remains a gathering place where traditional work rhythms shape daily life along the water.

The beach has showers, restrooms, and parking available throughout the year, with lifeguards on duty during warmer months. Visit in the afternoon for the most comfortable conditions and to avoid crowds that gather in the morning.

At low tide, natural rock pools form along the sand where visitors can spot starfish, small fish, and other sea creatures in shallow pools. These tidal pools offer an intimate view of marine life that most beach visitors overlook.
