Gorliz beach

Gorliz beach is a sand beach on the Basque coast measuring roughly 800 meters long and between 50 to 130 meters wide with moderate waves suitable for swimming. Behind the sand runs a concrete promenade that connects the beach to nearby amenities and waterfront paths.

This location began as a traditional fishing settlement and transformed into a beach destination during the 20th century coastal tourism growth. The shift reflected changing ways people used and valued the shoreline.

The promenade hosts small bars and eateries where locals and visitors sit to enjoy traditional Basque pintxos and fresh seafood. The place reflects the coastal fishing culture that still defines daily life in this corner of the Basque region.

The beach offers showers, restrooms, lifeguard services, and parking for over 100 vehicles near the main road. All basic facilities are clearly visible and easy to find when you arrive.

The beach has naturally brown sand rather than white, which gives it a distinct look compared to other coastal areas. This color comes from the local rock formations along this stretch of coast.
