Platja Estanys

Platja Estanys is a wide sandy beach along the Mediterranean coast with fine white sand and clear turquoise water. The shoreline stretches for several hundred meters and provides areas for swimming and water sports.

The name comes from the nearby Sa Vall salt lakes, which date back to Roman times when the southern region of Mallorca was settled. The connection to these ancient salt production sites shaped the history of this stretch of coast.

The beach is part of a protected area where salt lagoons and dunes with Mediterranean plants like sea lilies and juniper shape the landscape. This natural setting reflects how people and nature have coexisted here over time.

The beach has a restaurant and windsurfing equipment rentals, along with areas for sun loungers and shade. Parking is available in the nearby town of Colonia Sant Jordi.

Behind the beach lies a protected dune system that acts as a natural barrier between the sea and the salt lagoons. This arrangement creates a distinctive landscape where sea and salt production have shaped each other over time.
