Cala Canyet, Beach in Santa Cristina d'Aro, Spain.
Cala Canyet is a small beach on the Mediterranean coast featuring fine sand and steep cliffs that frame it from above. The cove stretches roughly 70 meters and is defined by dense vegetation and clear water.
The beach gained recognition in the 1950s when actress Ava Gardner was in the area filming Pandora and the Flying Dutchman in nearby Tossa de Mar. This connected the cove to cinema's golden age.
Stone bridges known as puentes de Canyet connect different sections of the coastal path, providing access to multiple swimming areas along the shore.
There are no direct commercial facilities on the beach itself, so visitors should bring supplies or eat in the nearby Rosamar area. The best time to visit is outside peak season when fewer people are around.
Large rock formations next to the cove create natural rock pools with calm water where you can watch sea creatures in protected conditions. These enclosed areas offer a different experience than the open cove.
