Platja de la Renegà

Playa de la Renegà is a Mediterranean beach in Castellón made up of several small coves with coarse sand that has been naturally shaped by sea and wind. The coastline features a mix of sandy sections and rocky areas created by natural coastal processes.

Ancient watchtowers like Torre Colomera and Torre de la Corda were built along this coast to defend against sea raids and attacks. These fortifications date from a time when maritime threats were real dangers to the region.

Fishing traditions still shape the local food culture, with restaurants nearby serving fresh catches brought in daily from these waters. The coastline remains central to how residents connect with their Mediterranean home.

The beach can be reached via the Green Way, a converted railway trail with nearby parking that runs along the coast. Visit early in the day to find parking more easily and enjoy the area with fewer crowds.

The area is home to several protected marine species that can be spotted in the waters and among the rocks. The combination of sand and rocky areas makes the location suitable for snorkeling and observing sea life.
