The National Park Service integrated Herring Cove Beach into the Cape Cod National Seashore system during the 1960s to preserve the natural coastal environment.
Musicians perform concerts at Herring Cove Beach during July and August, creating a gathering space for residents and visitors to experience local entertainment.
The beach features two parking areas with over 600 spaces, including the North Lot with 208 spots and the South Lot containing 400 spaces.
This location represents the only National Park Service managed beach situated on Cape Cod Bay rather than facing the Atlantic Ocean.
