Silver Sands

Silver Sands extends along the Connecticut coast with clean white sand and gentle slopes leading to Long Island Sound waters.

The beach became a state park in 1960 after extensive development of boardwalks and facilities to accommodate growing numbers of visitors.

The beach hosts summer concerts and community events, connecting local residents through music and outdoor activities throughout the warmer months.

The beach offers parking facilities, restrooms, showers, and a 1.5-mile boardwalk suitable for walking, running, and nature observation.

During low tide, visitors can walk across a sandbar to Charles Island, where Captain Kidd supposedly buried treasure in the 17th century.
