Shell Point Beach

Shell Point Beach stretches 785 feet along Apalachee Bay with white sand and scattered shells, where blue-green waters reach knee-deep depth about 100 feet from shore.

The beach area previously featured a marina, motel, and restaurant that attracted large weekend crowds before becoming maintained by the Wakulla County Department of Parks and Recreation.

The Stephen C. Smith Memorial Regatta takes place during the last weekend of April, bringing 200 participants and hundreds of spectators from across the southeastern United States.

The beach facilities include restrooms, showers, rentable pavilions, a playground, a volleyball court, a kayak launch point, and 82 parking spaces available from 6 AM to midnight.

Local windsurfing enthusiasts conduct a wind ceremony at the beginning of spring to celebrate the natural elements and anticipate favorable weather conditions for the upcoming year.
