Playa Mantas

Playa Mantas is a gray sand beach in Puntarenas, Costa Rica, stretching between rocky outcrops with turquoise waters visible during the dry season. The shore offers a sheltered setting along the Pacific coast.

The beach can be reached via Highway 34 toward Punta Leona and has a public parking area nearby. Early arrival is wise, especially on weekends, to find a spot without difficulty.

At low tide, protected rock pools form in the southern section, creating natural swimming basins. Wildlife like white-faced monkeys and scarlet macaws regularly visit the area.
