Colo-I-Suva forest reserve, Forest reserve and commercial forest in Naitasiri, Fiji.
Colo-I-Suva is a rainforest reserve in Naitasiri with walking paths that wind through the protected woodland. The area is crossed by Waisila Creek and features several natural swimming pools of varying depths throughout its terrain.
The reserve was established in 1952 as a protected forest for sustainable use. African mahogany trees were planted among native species during the 1940s and 1950s to develop the woodland.
The name comes from the Fijian language and means "mountain of the forest." Today, local communities and visitors alike use the natural pools and waterfalls as gathering places that have held meaning for generations.
Two car parks give access to different parts of the forest, with routes to both upper and lower pools. Wear sturdy shoes as paths can be muddy and wet, especially after rain.
The Waisila Falls plunges into a deep natural pool where visitors can swim and dive safely. This waterfall is one of the most popular spots in the reserve and draws people who want to cool off in the clean water.
