Port de morebaya, Seaport in Tiendou, Guinea
The Port of Morebaya is a seaport in Tiendou located at the mouth of a coastal river with modern facilities for ships and cargo handling. The infrastructure was built to process and ship large quantities of raw materials by sea.
Construction of the port began in 2020 as part of a major infrastructure project to enable the export of raw materials from the region. This development was an important step in strengthening transportation connections across the country.
The port development reflects Guinea's determination to independently manage its mineral resources through dedicated maritime and rail infrastructure.
The area sits in a region with limited road connections, but a newly built road significantly improves access. Visitors should allow extra time and consider local transportation conditions, as infrastructure is still developing.
The facility will accommodate a 670-kilometer railway line, the Transguinean, connecting the Beyla prefecture to the port for mineral transportation.
