Rocher de la Loze

Rocher de la Loze is a mountain summit near Courchevel in the French Alps, standing at approximately 2230 meters in elevation. From here, visitors can look out onto views of the Vanoise glaciers and the Mont Blanc mountain range.

The area was long accessible only via unpaved mountain paths until authorities developed it as a route for the Tour de France. This infrastructure change took place around 2019 and connected the location to international cycling competitions.

The summit draws cyclists and hikers who follow marked trails through alpine environments and observe local mountain flora and fauna. These routes form part of the regional mountain culture where people move through the high altitude landscape and experience nature.

Visitors can reach the summit via the Les Verdons cable car from La Croisette, where free covered parking remains available during summer months. For those wanting to hike, marked trails offer routes that present different conditions across the seasons.

A circular hiking route guides visitors around the surrounding landscape and passes by a characteristic blue lake near the mountain. This lake is often overlooked by many hikers when planning their routes.
