Bogus Basin

Bogus Basin is a ski resort in the mountains north of Boise with trails for beginners, intermediate, and advanced skiers. The property features multiple lifts, dining options, and facilities spread across the mountainside.

The area opened in 1942 as a non-profit venture to bring winter sports to the local community. Over the decades, the resort grew into a well-established recreation destination.

The resort runs instructional programs and events that bring together families and groups from the surrounding communities throughout the winter season. Many regular visitors have developed long-standing connections to the mountain and its trails.

The resort sits about 16 miles north of Boise and is easy to reach by car. Visitors should prepare for winter road conditions and bring warm clothing regardless of the season.

The back side of the mountain features groomed runs that see fewer visitors and offers respite in shaded terrain with steep slopes. This quieter section contrasts with the busier front side.
