Nordseecamping Schillig
Nordseecamping Schillig is a campground located on the North Sea coast in Wangerland with approximately 1800 pitches spread across spacious grounds. Each site includes connections for electricity, water, and waste disposal, with the beach accessible within a short walk.
The site is among Germany's oldest and largest campgrounds and has evolved over many decades into a popular seaside destination for campers. Infrastructure upgrades are planned to modernize water and electrical systems by 2030 to improve comfort standards.
The campground serves as a gathering place where visitors connect with the sea and with each other through shared daily routines. People spend time walking the beach, watching tides, and sharing meals in outdoor spaces, which shapes how the place feels as a community.
The campground is easily accessible by car and located about an hour and a half from major cities. Registration is straightforward, and several sanitary facilities, a bakery, small shop, and restaurants are available on or near the site to simplify daily camp life.
At low tide, visitors can explore the mudflats, a shallow seabed that offers unique adventures for children and nature enthusiasts. This daily transformation of the landscape through tides makes each day different and gives the site a distinctive character.
