Zona de Acampada Controlada El Robledal, Controlled camping area in Alhama de Granada, Spain
Zona de Acampada Controlada El Robledal is a camping site within the Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama Natural Park that provides water access, outdoor cooking facilities, and shower areas. The site is designed for group stays and can accommodate multiple tents along with shared amenities for visitors.
The site was developed by the Instituto Andaluz de la Juventud to promote outdoor activities in nature for youth groups. Converting this natural area into a regulated camping ground made it an important location for organized outdoor experiences in the region.
The site has an outdoor classroom where visitors can learn about traditional grain threshing methods that were once carried out with mules and historical tools. The facility keeps these old agricultural practices visible and accessible to anyone interested in how farming was done in past times.
The site is most active during summer months from June to October and caters primarily to youth organizations through reservation. It is advisable to book at least two weeks before your planned arrival date to secure a spot.
The facility features a restored water trough from the former El Robledal farmhouse, which shows a direct link to the site's agricultural past. A pond supplies water to the entire campground and serves as a reminder of how the land was historically used.
