Tour P&V, Office building on Rue Royale, Brussels, Belgium
Tour P&V is an office tower on Rue Royale in Brussels standing about 65 meters tall with a distinctive white and blue stone base. The building features regular rectangular windows and a glass-curtain wall system that extends across its 18 floors.
The tower was designed in 1954 by architect Hugo Van Kuyck and became Belgium's first building with a modern glass-curtain wall system. This innovative construction method set a new standard for Brussels architecture going forward.
The building served as headquarters for an insurance cooperative that belonged to the Belgian workers movement. This connection to social and labor history remains part of its identity in the city center.
The tower can be viewed from Rue Royale and offers good photo opportunities for architecture enthusiasts looking at it from outside. Access inside is limited since it remains a private office building.
During the Christmas season, coordinated lighting through its windows transforms the facade into a giant Christmas tree ornament. This seasonal light display has become a beloved tradition for people passing through the area.
