Jardin Acorus

Jardin Acorus is a three-hectare garden with multiple water basins, streams, and ponds displaying over 250 aquatic plants and around 1000 different plant species. The grounds combine open walkways with densely planted zones where visitors encounter different ecological environments side by side.

The garden was established in 1992 by Johan Benoist and his team, who left their urban lifestyle to dedicate themselves to creating aquatic gardens. From this founding vision came a place committed to preserving aquatic plants and their ecological importance.

The garden features both English and Japanese design traditions visible in its landscaping and structures. You'll notice sculpted hedges, layered planting beds, wooden bridges, water features, and a traditional Japanese gate throughout the space.

The garden is open to visitors at set times, and it is wise to check current opening hours in advance as these may vary seasonally. Comfortable shoes are advisable since the walking paths cover the large grounds, and you should plan to spend substantial time exploring.

A biological swimming pool uses natural filtration processes and is inhabited by a sturgeon, giving the place an ecological distinction. This combination shows a hands-on approach to protecting aquatic ecosystems during your visit.
