Château du Villard

Château du Villard is a medieval castle in Revest-des-Brousses composed of two parallel buildings serving different purposes. The western structure contains a great hall with an interior spiral staircase and a gothic fireplace.

The castle was founded in the 15th century and underwent major reworking in the 16th century. The western section received additional changes during the 19th century.

The western wing displays gothic architectural details and holds murals painted between the late 1500s and early 1600s. These rooms show the tastes and skills of the people who made this their home.

You can visit on weekdays during set opening hours. Groups should check ahead, as guided tours are available when you have enough people.

The facades, roofs, and surrounding walls earned recognition as historical monuments by France's Ministry of Culture in 1979. This protection preserves the original structure while excluding later additions.
