Nordhavn

Nordhavn is a harbor area along the Øresund in Copenhagen, built at the end of the 19th century for shipping activities. The district extends more than 2 kilometers along the coast and includes ferry docks, a container yard, a marina, and factories.

The harbor zone was created at the end of the 19th century as an important part of Copenhagen's shipping industry, supplying the city with cargo and goods. Starting in the 2010s, a major redevelopment began transforming the industrial site into a residential and working district.

The name Nordhavn translates to North Harbour and reflects the area's position along the waterfront, where Copenhagen once loaded and unloaded its cargo ships. Today residents use the harbor promenade for swimming and relaxing, while the old warehouses serve as restaurants and offices.

The S-train and metro bring you here from central Copenhagen in less than 15 minutes, while the harbor bus offers an alternative route along the water. Once there, most places are easy to reach on foot or by bicycle, making exploration straightforward.

The street Skudehavnsvej served as a filming location in 1977 for a Danish movie about the Olsen Gang, which fans of the series can recognize when walking through the neighborhood. The very long cruise ship quay stretches about 1,100 meters and has three separate passenger terminals for arriving travelers.
