Aquarium Berlin
Aquarium Berlin is a large facility in the city center that displays fish, sharks, reptiles, and insects in tanks and terrariums. The spaces spread across multiple floors: lower levels feature tropical tanks with coral reefs, middle sections show crocodiles and snakes, and upper floors contain amphibians and insects.
The facility was built in the early 2000s and became an important location for animal observation in Berlin. A special crocodile section comes from much earlier times and was once a pioneering type of animal display.
The aquarium displays habitats of water and land animals, showing visitors how diverse nature can be. People of all ages come here to observe creatures in their environments and learn about these different worlds.
The facility is conveniently located on Budapester Strasse and easy to reach by public transport, with a parking lot and underground garage available. A typical visit takes about two hours, and the building has elevators and wide corridors for wheelchair access.
A special area houses sharks in a massive tank that visitors can view from outside the water. This viewing approach lets people experience the animals in a way that feels quite different from other exhibits.
