Pralus
Pralus is a chocolate and pastry shop in Paris specializing in artisanal pralines and chocolate bars made from select cocoa beans sourced from around the world. The boutique displays around twenty different chocolate varieties, each with its own flavor profile, alongside traditional pastries such as the praline brioche.
Pralus was founded in 1948 by Auguste Pralus, a master pastry chef who created the Praluline, a sweet brioche with pink pralines. His son François later took over and shifted focus to chocolate making, insisting on single-origin cocoa beans to preserve the unique flavor of each region.
Pralus represents French craftsmanship in chocolate making, a tradition passed down through the family business since its founding. Visitors can see how this dedication to quality and attention to detail shapes everything the shop produces and displays.
The shop is located in the 4th district, with another location in the 7th district near the École Militaire metro station. Visitors can browse the displays most weekdays and Saturday, and online ordering with in-store pickup is also available.
François Pralus refuses to blend cocoa beans from different origins, meaning each chocolate bar reflects the pure taste of a single growing region such as Madagascar or Tanzania. This unusual purity makes every product a sensory journey to the source of its ingredients.
