Reiteralm
Reiteralm is a ski area near Schladming in Austria featuring around 32 kilometers of wide, well-groomed slopes winding through the mountains. The resort offers a mix of blue runs for beginners, red runs for intermediate skiers, and black runs for advanced riders, served by modern lift systems including two gondolas, four chairlifts, and six T-bar lifts.
Reiteralm was developed several decades ago with the goal of creating a place where people could enjoy skiing with family and friends. Over time, the area has grown and improved its facilities while maintaining its simple, welcoming character.
The name Reiteralm reflects the local alpine traditions and landscape of the region. The place embodies Austrian hospitality and community values, where visitors can observe how people naturally gather at mountain huts to share meals and stories after spending time outdoors in the snow.
The area is easy to reach by road with plenty of parking near the Silver Jet gondola base station. The lift operates from 7:45 am on weekends, allowing early risers to enjoy freshly groomed slopes and avoid crowds later in the day.
The area has earned a reputation as a training ground for international ski racing, where notable athletes including Marcel Hirscher have honed their skills on these slopes. The gold-certified trail maintenance and specialized features like the Speedy Shot Course and Skimovie parallel slalom offer visitors a glimpse into professional-level training.
