Musée MACMA
The Musée MACMA is a private art museum in Marrakesh that focuses on Moroccan artistic creation and presents a carefully curated collection of paintings, photographs, and contemporary works. The space of around 400 square meters is designed to be bright and welcoming, allowing visitors to explore the displayed pieces in a calm setting.
The museum was founded in 2016 and focuses on the history of Moroccan art, tracing back to the 1920s and including pioneers such as Mohamed Ben Ali R'bati. The collection documents the development of the Moroccan art scene from its early beginnings to its present participation in international exhibitions.
The museum displays works by Moroccan artists and allows visitors to understand the local art scene and its evolution over nearly a century. The exhibited pieces connect personal stories, local heritage, and artistic expression that reflect the cultural life of the city.
The museum is located in the Gueliz neighborhood on Rue Yougoslavie and is open during the day and sometimes in the early evening, with hours varying by season. Visitors should plan to spend about one to two hours exploring the different exhibition areas at their own pace.
The museum displays not only well-known artists but also lesser-known contemporary works that reveal how Moroccan creators see the world today. Its private operation allows for exhibitions that feel different and more personal than those in larger public institutions.
