Via Ferrata de Tolla, Via ferrata near Tolla, Corsica, France
Via Ferrata de Tolla is a fixed-cable climbing route set in the Prunelli Gorge about 35 kilometers east of Ajaccio. The trail consists of three connected sections featuring rope bridges and rock passages that take approximately three hours to complete.
The route was constructed by Rêves de Cimes and took its current form in 2004. Since then, the site has been regularly inspected and maintained to ensure safe conditions for visitors.
The route is named after the nearby village of Tolla and reflects how locals use the surrounding mountains for outdoor activities. Visitors experience the landscape as a place for testing themselves physically while connecting with Corsica's natural environment.
Bring at least one liter of water, sturdy shoes, and a hat for sun protection when visiting. Helmets, harnesses, and gloves can be rented on site, though reservations should be made a day in advance.
The route stands out for its Taffoni granite formations at the start, which are large hollowed-out rocks shaped by water over centuries. Multiple exit points along the way allow visitors to shorten their journey if needed, offering flexibility for different fitness levels.
