KB CaféShop, Café in Paris, France
KB CaféShop is a small café on Avenue Trudaine in Paris, in the neighborhood just below Montmartre near Pigalle. Inside, large wooden tables fill a simply furnished room, and a sidewalk terrace out front faces the street.
The café opened in 2010 and was one of the first places in France to focus on specialty coffee in this way. From 2015, the owners began roasting their own beans and later opened a second, larger space called Back in Black.
KB CaféShop was once called KookaBoora, and its Australian coffee roots still show in the way each cup is prepared and served with care. On weekends, the café turns off the Wi-Fi on purpose, nudging visitors to talk to each other rather than stare at their screens.
The café is within easy walking distance of Montmartre and Pigalle, and several metro stations are nearby. Mornings and weekends tend to draw more people, so a weekday afternoon is a good time for a quieter stop.
From the terrace, the dome of Sacré Coeur is visible above the rooftops, which catches many visitors off guard the first time they sit outside. The café has also hosted coffee tasting events where customers could compare beans from countries like Colombia, Ethiopia, and Guatemala side by side.
