Time Out Market Porto, Food court in central Porto, Portugal
Time Out Market Porto is a food court in the center of Porto, housed in the south wing of São Bento railway station. Inside, there are around twelve restaurant counters run by different chefs, a Tasting Room bar above the main floor, and an outdoor courtyard with seating.
Time Out Market Porto opened in 2024, set within part of an older market building near São Bento station. The conversion was led by Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, whose design kept the high ceilings and added large windows to bring in natural light.
Time Out Market Porto sits in the south wing of São Bento railway station, a building known for its blue and white tiles. Those same tiles line parts of the market interior, giving the space a look that feels rooted in Porto.
The market is open daily from late morning until midnight, making it easy to fit into a day of sightseeing. No reservation is needed, but it can fill up at peak lunch and dinner hours, so coming a little earlier or later helps find a seat more easily.
The market does not accept cash directly: visitors who carry only cash need to get a TOM Card from the information desk, which works like a prepaid card and stays valid for a year. There is also a shop called A Vida Portuguesa inside, selling traditional Portuguese goods like pottery and sweets alongside the food counters.
