College Park, Recreation area in central Dublin, Ireland
College Park is a recreation area in central Dublin, located near the Mansion House on Dawson Street. It offers open grassy space with some trees and sits within walking distance of Trinity College and the main city streets.
The area around the Mansion House has been one of Dublin's central districts since the early 1700s. Some of Ireland's most important political gatherings took place nearby, including the first meeting of the Dáil in 1919.
College Park sits close to the Mansion House, the official home of Dublin's Lord Mayor, on Dawson Street. People passing through often pause here before continuing toward the shops and cafes that line the surrounding streets.
The park is easy to reach on foot from most of Dublin's central attractions and is close to several bus stops. It works well as a stopping point during a walk through the city center.
Despite its name, College Park has no direct connection to Trinity College, even though the university is nearby. The similarity often leads visitors to confuse it with the sports ground inside the college campus.
