Hotel Son Ermità, Hotel in the rural north of Menorca, Spain
Hotel Son Ermità is a small hotel on an old rural estate in the north of Menorca, surrounded by olive groves, native shrubs, and dry stone walls. The main building dates to the late 18th century and has been restored using local materials, offering ten rooms and a separate villa.
The estate was built in the late 18th century as a family home and included an oratory dedicated to San Pablo the hermit, which gave the hotel its name. In recent years, the Madera family carefully restored the building and turned it into a hotel under the Vestige Collection.
The access road includes a short unpaved stretch, so a vehicle with good clearance makes the arrival more comfortable. Guests without a room booking can visit the on-site restaurant, Brisa, with a reservation in advance.
A sculpture made of soft coral stands on the main staircase and needs regular moisture to stay in good condition. This care routine is a reminder that some natural materials in the building are still alive in their own way.
