Ets Alocs

Ets Alocs is a beach in Ferreries with a curved shoreline of pebbles backed by natural dunes. A seasonal stream runs through a wetland area behind the shore, creating varied ground.

The name comes from the Vitex Agnus Castus shrub that grows naturally in the area and held uses in traditional medicine. This connection to local plant knowledge shaped how people understood the coast.

This northern section of Menorca presents typical vegetation shaped by strong Tramuntana winds, creating a distinct ecological environment.

You can reach the beach by hiking from Sa Muntanya Mala or walking via a forest track off the Me-1 road. Both routes involve walking through natural ground, so wear sturdy shoes and bring water.

The beach sits inside the Marine Reserve of Menorca, where the water stays clear and sea life thrives in protected conditions. Few visitors know that this protected status makes the waters notably cleaner than elsewhere on the island.
