Algaiarens, Protected bay and beach system in Ciutadella de Menorca, Spain.

Algaiarens is a twin-bay beach system on Menorca's northwestern shore, featuring two sandy coves with gently shelving waters. The protected site stretches along the coast with reddish sand and clear water that gradually deepens from shore.

This coastal stretch has served as a fishing ground for local boats for generations, with the western cove of Ses Fontanelles playing a traditional role in Mediterranean maritime activity. The area developed as a sheltered anchorage where fishing communities maintained their operations.

The private property status of these beaches intersects with Spanish coastal laws that maintain public access rights for all visitors.

A parking area sits a short walk from the beach, marked with signage to help visitors find the entry paths. The route to shore is straightforward and well-defined for beachgoers of all abilities.

The reddish tone of the sand sets this cove apart from other Menorcan beaches and comes from distinctive mineral deposits in the seabed. Visitors often find this unusual coloring one of the first details they notice when arriving.
